The Last Straw was inspired by the tragic murdering of George Floyd. During this time there was so much anger and pain amongst us as African Americans with he continuing of police brutality. This painting comes from a real picture with its own twist. Throughout this piece there are a couple of hidden meanings that tie back to my friends that are the representation of black men that are doing positive things in their communities and these are the type of people we need to see to depict our existence and show our value.
